Nicaragua to participate in the 2014 PDAC Event

Nicaragua recently participated in the 2014 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention, the world’s leading mining event, with the objective of showcasing the successful development of the country’s mining sector and its investment opportunities. The event was held from March 2-5, 2014 in the Metro Toronto Convention Center, Canada.

The country had a booth (#1604) where participants were able to learn about the successful development of Nicaragua’s mining sector and its competitive advantages in this industry.

The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) is a national association representing the mineral exploration and development industry with over 10,000 individual and corporate members. The PDAC exists to promote a responsible, vibrant and sustainable Canadian mineral exploration and development sector. In 2012, this event attracted 30,369 attendees from 125 countries.

The Nicaraguan delegation that attended the conference included representatives of the country’s Chamber of Mines (CAMINIC, for its acronym in Spanish), the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM, for its acronym in Spanish) and PRONicaragua, the official investment and export promotion agency, as well as renowned mining companies successfully operating in Nicaragua.
